I voted Maya as it is my fave out of the 2 i have tried (max being the other) however i refer to the inclusion of cloth and hair in maya 8/8.5 i have not checked on 2008 new features as yet though, i wish they would leave it for a year or so, that way we can bloody learn them properly and the plug ins would work lol.

I voted for Lightwave because the difference between V 8.5 and 9 is amazing. I do believe that Maya is a stronger package but unfortunately Autodesk bought it from Alias. I hate Autodesk! What is likely to happen is they will use Maya as donor parts for 3D Max and carve it up into little pieces. That might give 3D Max some better attributes but it will still be 3D Max...and beautiful Maya will be junk.

well i had never really heard of lightwave or knew ppl who used it since i got into maya through unreal stuff, (so many groovy things to learn and create, so little time).
I aspire to become professinal one day but its definatley a hobby at mo, though if i do say so a damn cool one !!!

| I have 3D Max 2008 now. in my opinion it's much easier to work in Cinema 4D lol but 3DMax is better than c4d in terms of architectural modelling. |

Hi, in my opinion C4D itīs the best in modelling and animating. The render itīs very proffessional and easy.

| Hello enriquesito, you are right about C4D but I haven't seen any C4D buildings or houses exterior I usually find interiors made in C4D and exteriors made in MAX. well Maxon has C4D Archi edition but I haven't tried it myself. |

I would say Modo but that's not on the list. They don't have everything in it but they are growing HUGE.
If I have to choose from the list, I say Lightwave. |
